COLLEGE LUNCHES
We often have admissions representatives from colleges across the
country come speak to students during the Upper School lunch time (12:40
- 1:15 p.m.). These sessions take place in the Library Lab, the
classroom behind the Library and next to the cafeteria. Students are
encouraged to come to as many of these sessions as possible to get an
idea of the opportunities available to them. Parents and homeschool
students are also welcome to attend. If you would like to learn more
about a school you do not see represented, please let us know so we can
contact their admissions office and request a visit. Check back here
often as we will keep this calendar updated with new visits.

EVENTS
Saturday, September 17 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Christian College Fair at Faith West Academy in Katy
This
is a college fair with more than 30 Christian colleges and universities
from all over the country represented. More information about the
fair,
including directions and a full list of schools attending the fair, can
be found at http://nccf.us/view-fair.php?fid=54.
This would be a great opportunity for sophomores and juniors to learn
about the options available and for seniors to get face time with
admissions counselors at schools to which they plan to apply. We hope
you are able to attend!
Wednesday, October 12 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. PSAT testing
All
9th - 11th grade students at Providence take the PSAT. The PSAT is a
Preliminary SAT that helps students prepare for the standardized tests
colleges use for admission and scholarship consideration. Juniors' PSAT
scores are used to determine their standing in the National Merit
Scholarship competition. Practice materials for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT
are available in the College Advising Office. More information about
the test can be found at http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/about.html.
