Thank you for considering a gift to Providence Classical School’s Annual Fund campaign.  A gift to the Annual Fund campaign is the most directly beneficial gift you can give to the school.

 

Why give to the Annual Fund campaign?

 

~ To enhance the daily operations of the school by supplementing the portion of our operating budget that is not covered by tuition and fees. 

 

 

~ To play a critical role in keeping tuition reasonable and competitive, while providing a way for parents, grandparents, alumni and friends of Providence to present the school with a gift that is 100% tax deductible.  

 

~ To play an important role in providing for bonuses and salary increases for our valued teachers. 

 

~ To display a true, vested commitment to our vision to those outside the Providence community, which is extremely important as we seek significant capital gifts.  That is why it is extremely important that we aim for 100% participation within our school community.

 

Our goal is to train up students who will stand as oaks deeply rooted, that they might impact our culture for Christ. This vision is worthy of our 100% participation goal as it offers long-lasting change in our students and our culture at large.

 

Gifts to the Annual Fund campaign are welcome at any level and remain confidential.  Your gift counts toward our participation rate, no matter the amount.  Gifts can also remain anonymous if so desired.

 

 

Corporate Matching Gifts

 

A matching gift is a wonderful way to double – or even triple – the impact of your gift to Providence Classical School.   Many companies offer a matching gifts program, and will match your monetary gift up to a certain percentage, or even through volunteer hours performed.  We strongly encourage you to check with your employer’s human resources office to find out if such a program exists at your company.

What is Providence Classical School’s Annual Fund Campaign?

The Annual Fund campaign requests the first and most important financial gift asked of every PCS parent, grandparent, student, faculty, staff, alumni and friend of the school.  Since dollars raised from this campaign go directly toward the daily operations and continuous improvements of Providence Classical School, it is one of the most effective ways for parents to directly enhance the educational experience of their children, and to lend support to the teachers that provide that experience.  Since tuition supports 83% of our school’s operating budget, it is crucial for us to supplement 17% of our operating budget with fundraising activities.

 

Since  I already participate in the Gala and the Golf-a-thon, why should I also support the Annual Fund campaign?

Our annual Gala and Golf-a-thon provide fundraising opportunities that are important for the presence of PCS in our community, as well as for fellowship among our families.  Donations to the Annual Fund campaign should also be prioritized because a full 100% of your gift goes directly to the school’s operating budget, and it is 100% tax deductible.  That is why it is the most directly beneficial gift that you can give to the school.  Additionally, 100% parent participation in the Annual Fund displays a true commitment to a Christian classical education, both within our school family and in the community at large. 

 

Why not just raise tuition for additional fundraising?

Because our mission is to train our children to impact our culture for Christ, it is important to ensure that a PCS education is available to as many students as possible.  This can be achieved in two ways:  by keeping our tuition rates reasonable and competitive, and by providing financial aid each year.  Proceeds raised from the Annual Fund campaign are critical in this area.  Additionally, raising tuition does not provide the opportunity of a 100% tax deduction for donors as the Annual Fund campaign does.

 

Why not ask corporations or foundations to participate in the Annual Fund campaign?

While corporations and foundations will often entertain requests for capital and endowment donations, they generally do not support the daily operating budgets of non-profit organizations, including schools.  Foundations, corporations and individual donors outside of our parent circle can be strongly motivated to make significant gifts through the example set by the parent body, as this demonstrates belief in the school and its programs, as well fiscal independence and responsibility.  Corporations can also be encouraged to support our school through a Matching Gifts program.

 

How much do I need to give and when do I need to make my donation?

A gift of any amount is greatly appreciated and counts toward our goal of 100% participation.  Additionally, if you prefer to make your donation at a later date in the school year, you can make your pledge now and have until June 2011 to fulfill that pledge with your payment.
