Statement of Faith

Primary Doctrine - The following is the foundation of beliefs on which Providence Classical School is based.  They are also the essential elements of Christianity that will be unapologetically taught in various ways through all grade levels.  The substance of these statements is that which will be considered primary doctrine in Providence Classical School.  Secondary doctrines and issues will not be presented as primary doctrine.

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, completely inerrant in the original writings.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that God created the universe by His Power and Word.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and his personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and that that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Secondary Doctrine Policy - Secondary doctrines are those doctrinal issues which are not directly addressed in the Providence Classical School Statement of Faith.  When these types of doctrine or issues arise, they will be referred back to the family and local churches for final authority.  Classroom discussion of secondary doctrine should be for informative purposes only.  Teachers will encourage students to follow up any questions they may have concerning secondary doctrine with their parents and/or pastor.
