Grammar School Teachers – Grades First – Sixth
Grammar Teachers, Grades 1-6: The ideal grammar teacher will have an infectious love of learning, which he or she will demonstrate to the class each and every day. Grammar teachers typically teach an array of subjects, including (but not limited to) Bible, reading (learning to read in grades 1-3, reading to learn in grades 4+), math, history, literature, science, and writing. The spiritual maturity to weave all of these “subjects” together into an integrated whole, with Christ always at the center, is a must, as are good communication skills (both speaking and writing). A minimum of three years’ experience in the classical Christian grammar classroom, as well as the ability to coach a sport or lead an after-school club is a plus.
Upper School Mathematics Teacher
Upper school math teachers should have a love of classical education and mathematics. Our Math Department seeks to develop within the students a love and appreciation for math, an understanding that all mathematical truth was created by God and discovered by man, a recognition that mathematical patterns reflect how God’s physical universe works, and a commitment to reflect mathematics as an expression of truth, goodness, and beauty. Courses taught are Pre-Algebra, College Algebra, and Calculus.

Latin is required in grades 3 through 9 at PCS, with students having the option of advanced Latin courses in grades 10 through 12. One full-time position is available teaching four class sections of approximately 15 students each, either in Latin I and II (grades 7 and 8) or Latin III and IV (grades 9 and 10).
