Providence Classical School is a classical Christian school in northwest Houston currently serving 400+ students in grades PreK through 12. If interested in applying for the 2019-2020 school year see below for more information. For teaching positions, all qualified candidates should have at least a Bachelor’s degree and relevant classroom experience.

Sixth Grade Grammar School Teacher (We are no longer taking applicants for this position)
The ideal Sixth grade grammar school teacher will have an infectious love of learning, which he or she will demonstrate to the class each and every day. This teacher will teach subjects in math, science, and English. The spiritual maturity to weave all of these “subjects” together into an integrated whole, with Christ always at the center, is a must, as are good communication skills (both speaking and writing). Classical Christian experience, as well as the ability to coach a sport or lead an after-school club is a plus.

Part-Time Positions

Upper School Art Teacher
The Art teacher should have a love of Christ, a love of his or her students, and a love of classical education. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with our school guidelines. The Art teacher is to lead the upper school students (grades 7-12) in the contemplation of God’s beauty and perfection. This instructor will teach two different classes, an Introduction to Art and an Advanced Art class, one hour a day, four days a week.

Applicants should possess a credible and vibrant Christian testimony that clearly demonstrates a relationship with Jesus Christ. Applicants should also fully support the school’s mission, statement of faith, and be excited about classical Christian education. Substitute Positions

Substitute teachers should have a love of Christ, a love for the students, and a love of classical education. The substitute must be able to provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans, create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students, maintain a safe and orderly environment, maintain the routines of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned, maintain a professional appearance, and take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the students.
