Faith & Worship
At Providence, our priorities are set by the two greatest commandments (Mark 12) — to love the Lord our God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. To that end, worship and service hold a profound significance within the context of the complete classical Christian education students receive at PCS. Not only do PCS teachers lead their students through class bible study and prayer, but also, our school community comes together for worship and Bible study in weekly chapel gatherings, House chapels, morning praise and prayer times, and more. Students lead these worship times on Worship Team, serving as Student Council and House Chaplains, and praying with and for their fellow Paladins. Older students are partnered with younger ones as Chapel Buddies, a beloved tradition at PCS.
Through worship, students are not only given the opportunity to deepen their spiritual connection and understanding of their faith, but they also learn important values such as humility, compassion, and gratitude. Engaging in worship, whether through prayer, music, or reflecting on Scripture, fosters a sense of unity among students, creating a spiritual kinship that transcends individual differences. These frequent acts of worship equip students to serve and lead in their school, community, and beyond.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:1-2
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10
“All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name. For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.”
Psalm 86:9-10
